The end of the 2019-20 School Year is near, and registration for next year has begun!

If you are new to the area, or have a child just entering Kindergarten, the process can seem very overwhelming. I’ve put together this step-by-step guide for you to help!

In light of Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines, this process is subject to change. Information currently reflects processes from CCSD.

Steps to enrolling a child in Cobb County Schools

  1. Figure out which school you’re zoned to using the Bus Route Finder .

  2. Gather your documents

    • Immunization Records

    • Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutritional Screening

    • Proof of Birth Date (must be 5 on or before September 1 to enter Kindergarten)

    • Proof of Residency

    • Child’s Social Security Number/ Card

Other documents your child may need:

    • A transcript from previous school if your child is entering a grade other than kindergarten

    • IEP if your child has an existing one on file

    • Custodial documents if child’s parents do not live together

      Full list of specifics here

  3. Begin the Registration Process on ParentVue

    • If you are new to the area, you’ll create a new account, and will have to finalize registration in person. This will likely occur toward the end of the summer, given current distancing guidelines.

    • If you have an existing ParentVue account from having another child already enrolled in Cobb County, you can use this account, even if you are changing schools.

    • Either way, you’ll want to reach out to the school to see how they’ll proceed with finalizing your registration. You can find the school’s information by going here >> Schools dropdown at top >> Select school category >> select school. Look for contact information of the admin staff and reach out by email; some schools are not taking phone calls at this time.

Ta-Da! That’s it! Welcome to Cobb County Schools. Our district was rated a Best-In-State employer by Forbes. As a Realtor®, I ethically have to remind you to do your own research on schools by looking at data and talking to residents.
